The reason why designers struggle to go independent.
I'm a self-taught Designer-turned-Entrepreneur, Creator and founder of UX Playbook and Backlog.
A few years ago, I started my entrepreneurial journey. Not purposefully but by accident.
By sheer luck, UX Playbook grew organically.
So I committed to creating content—publishing once a day online, and it took off.
In our first year we grew 883%. Then 65% the year after. UX Playbook has earned over $150,000 since May 2022 with an 85% profit margin.
And this year, we’re on track to have our first 6-figure year. All while being fully remote, choosing what to build, and having complete freedom.
But I had a hard time finding peers.
Most designers were several steps behind me, and then there were the designer leaders ahead of me… but where were the designers at my level? Backlog has become that peer group.
This is a place for Designers-turned-Entrepreneurs to share notes and grow together.
It's the most active community I've been a part of—my goal is to provide insights on a regular basis that make this membership well worth the investment.

It's not for
You’re going to give up easily.
Anyone who wants to replace their 9 to 5 and be an entrepreneur needs to begin with commitment. If you’re not willing to roll up your selves and try it for at least 6 months, then our community won’t magically build products and services for you.
You're looking for an overnight success.
No community can make you an overnight success. Entrepreneurship is a journey, not a destination. It demands consistent effort, strategic planning, and a commitment to iterative growth.
You’re not showing up in the community.
You get out what you put in. If you're not willing to reflect each week on how your business is doing, engage with other members, and implement systems shared, then our mission will fail.
